Founded in August 1999 by Chairman Dennis Jackson, and by Guy Patrick Garraghan, a native son of Windham, New York, WRIP grew and flourished under Garraghan's guidance for eleven years. His untimely passing in November 2010 left a void in the Mountaintop community. Guy will always be fondly remembered by those who knew him - and missed by the thousands who woke to his voice every morning.

WRIP will continue to honor the legacy of Guy Patrick Garraghan and the pride he took in the radio station and the people he worked so hard to serve.

Under the continued leadership of station Vice President and General Manager Jay Fink, a nine year station veteran, WRIP has tapped the talents of another broadcaster - long recognized for his community leadership and integrity - from our sister station, WQQQ in northwest Connecticut. Joe Loverro will join WRIP as Morning Show host and Operations Manager in May 2011. Together with a passionate and dedicated staff, the future looks bright as a new chapter unfolds for WRIP, thanks to the continued support of our many fans and successful advertisers.
